Introduction

TO: All

For more than eight years now most of you have trusted this ministry and have appreciated its service. You have been there through my tears and my joy, though my sin of worry and fear for this ministry. Again I sin. I fear for the future of this ministry. And it hurts. It is time to ask again for your help. We are in desperate need of your help. Emergency help. Your financial emergency help.

We have been trying to make a full time ministry of the CAP services the last three years and have failed due to lack of financial support. A number of you have been most gracious with your hard earned money and have regularly donated from $10 per month to $75 per month. While deeply appreciated, it is just not enough. This may be a free service to you but it is not free of costs. Almost anything your pastor needs so do we; food, insurance, transportation, facilities, equipment, maintenance, salary and many other unavoidable expenses.

Until recently, we have not seriously sought funding through fund givers and grants but have begun doing so. One foundation is expressing consideration of funding the CAP Ministry. But unfortunately, it takes months to a year to know whether the source will fund us. Another particularly attractive service costs $49 per month or $499 per year to use. I must ask for emergency help from you.

Because of the depth and thoroughness of the CAP analysis process, this service is not possible on a part-time basis. And we are so very vulnerable to the unpredictable availability of free support services. The only way to overcome reliance on free support services is to become more financially solid.

We average about $175 per month in donations. The rest of the CAP operating expenses come from family funds and resources. It is now imperative that additional public support be found. Our goal is $1500 per month until we can locate and secure funding for fully funded operations. Won't you consider becoming a partner in this ministry with your generous monthly contribution to it? Your contribution will help ensure the continuation of the massive data we are accumulating which enables us to provide a service useful not only to you as parents, grandparents and pastors, but potentially to mental health and even legal services.

Five and seven years after we started, the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Psychological Association (APA) plus others finally agreed on what we have been shouting from the tower for years: that the content of many vehicles of entertainment is indeed corruptive of wholesome and righteous ethics and morality; that the assaults on morality and decency in popular entertainment are indeed destructive to personal integrity, self respect and coping skills; that such behavioral templates are truly promoting of freedom from accountability, freedom from authority, and freedom from consequences -- the stealing of childhood from children. And we have mathematically and statistically proven the relative position and movement of ethically corruptive content in a portion of modern entertainment with our R-13 finding. And therein is such potential for contributing to the treatment of embittered children victimized by the vile and acidic influences of much of our popular entertainment. But all this cannot be cone without funding. That is one of the key reasons I need your emergency help until we do find full funding.

While many groups subjectively tell you of the content of popular entertainment, the CAP Ministry is the only source on the planet of Rock-solid objective comparative mathematical measurement of the assaults on morality and decency. We are the only source for unique numeric tools by which comparison of entertainment media can be made without having to see the subject medium first and still be reliable. Our investigation standards are indeed Rock-solid since they are built on His Word and therefore do not change with the tides of modern morality.

We have been shouting that God is right in His wisdom in Ps. 12:8 "The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men [e.g., create progressively vile/offensive entertainment with impunity and no consequences presented to younger and younger audiences every year when enough people continue to defend it, embrace it, pay for it, enjoy it, want it.]" Therein is the creeping desensitizing power of "entertainment" the CAP Ministry has been measuring, revealing and bellowing from the wilderness. As a people, we have become so drugged with the narcotics of extremes that what once was morally unacceptable has become morally invisible. You may quote me on that. And we are identifying and revealing the creeping desensitization to morally sound thinking and behaviors because our investigation standards are built on His Word, not subjective opinion or moral relativism.

While countless youth have brayed boldly about us telling you, their parents, grandparents and pastors the truth about the content of movies (a couple even sent death threats), countless parents and grandparents have written us with great appreciation for this service which helps them make an informed decision whether a film is fit for their family. Countless others have written telling us of their appreciation of showing where and how our Lord disapproves of much of the content in modern entertainment. Many admitted they didn't even realize what was bombarding them in their entertainment. Now they do and are a little brighter beacon for His Light. Our services have even been requested by three legal entities who investigate heinous crimes perpetrated by youth suspected of having been influenced by the entertainment industry.

The CAP Ministry has been conducting analyses almost entirely of movies and with rare analyses of television programs. However, the CAP analysis model is applicable to any system or vehicle which imparts information to an observer which requires the observer to learn, to form an opinion, or which elicits emotion(s) or value judgment(s) in the observer. That includes music, books, magazines, games and any other form of communication whether it be entertainment, informational or educational. The possible number of objectives we could incorporate are almost limitless, limited only by the amount of funding available to us.

This service may seem to be a pie-in-the-sky endeavor to some, but consider this. His Word is being served with it, His presence is being magnified by it, His love is being told in it and His worth is being understood through it. And through the CAP service, so many have come to understand the gravity of God's admonition to us in, among many others, 1 Cor. 15:33 which warns that "bad company" or "evil communications" corrupts good behavior. God knew of this reality long before the AMA, the APA and others finally woke up to it.

Less than 2% of our members who regularly receive our email analysis reports donate about 8% of the meager goal. It is going to take some deep prayerful consideration on your parts to really decide what this service is worth to you. Won't you please help us maintain and further this ministry? Won't you at least consider giving a generous monthly, tax-deductible gift of love?

If you are led to give and are able, please take the leap of faith and do so by making your donatiions using any of the three methods in the Doantions block below:

A receipt from the CAP Ministry for your donation will be provided upon request.

Whether you choose to donate to the CAP Ministry, please join me in lifting our needs to the Lord. He is able.

TO: All

I have found a national database of nonprofits which provides a search engine which provides a searchable database of more than 34,000 of the nation's largest foundations and more 680,000 grants of $5,000 or greater and boasts of more than 8,000 new grant listings weekly. This is a wonderful chance for us to find the funding for which we seek. But the service costs $49 per month.

Would anyone consider being a sponsor for us to use the Grant Explorer? You are, of course free to use any of the three methods available to send your gifts of support: the Network for Good or PayPal charge card agents or our US Mail address, but due to the time it takes for gifts to be processed through the Network for Good and the service charges of PayPal, might I ask in this case of time scarcity that you send your gifts by US mail?

Bless you for even considering/wanting to help. Such desires for giving are pleasing to our Lord.

August 17, 2003 Update

Good news! Not the Gospel Good News -- all or most of you know that already -- but good news nonetheless.

Regarding our request for a sponsor for the fees to use Grant Seeker ($49/month) as part of our Emergency Funds Drive, we have a sponsor for the first month! A&LB of Richardson, TX sent us $50 through US Mail to cover one month of Grant Express fees! Thank you, A&LB!!!

***An Update of the Drive***
We also received $50 from MS, $35 from anonymous, $25 from RC, $25 from TM and $20 from BD through Network for Good credit card services from previous months (delayed due a 3rd party going out of business - they no longer use a 3rd party) which I will credit to the August month of our drive. In a few days we will receive also through Network for Good $100 from LS, $10 from MB and another $50 from TM (minus 3% service charges - $4.80). We also received through US mail for the month of August $25 from LF, $75 from N&CC and $25 from E&HP. We will also receive in a couple days $28.83 ($30 minus $1.17 fees) from TD and $9.41 ($10 minus $0.59 fees) from NSL through PayPal credit card services.

There are two donations, $25 from RR and $25 from anonymous made through the Network for good services we will not receive until September 15 since they were made today (all donations made through Network for Good after the 1st of a month are sent to us the 15th of the next month). Though we will not receive them until September, I will credit them to the August month of the drive since they were made during August.

These humbling donations leave $926.56 remaining in emergency funds needed for the month of August!

If you have not made a donation to the CAP Ministry, won't you join the above folks who are working so hard to help keep the CAP services coming to you? Won't you please send us your generous gift from your heart? Since we are a nonprofit Christian 501(c)(3) ministry (TIN: 75-2607488), we are 100% dependent on public support through donations and funding. And all donations to the CAP Ministry are TAX-DEDUCTIBLE.

Please consider becoming a solid part of this trend-setting Christian service to His little ones through you; their parents, grandparents and Pastors, in His name by His Word with a generous donation.

It is easy to donate to the CAP Ministry, go to the "Donations" block below

Please take our request to the foot of the Cross and let Him give you assurance of our integrity and need.

Bless you all for years of service. And bless you in advance for your donations.

August 25, 2003 Update

The news is not good this time. A total of $32.41 ($28.83 from TM and $3.58 from PF) of the remaining amount needed has been received since August 17, leaving a need of $894.15 for the month of August. And we are very close to September - seven days! - when the $1500 starts all over again.

Won't you please visit the "Donations" block below and give a generous gift of love and become part of the hard-working team of CAPtains helping to keep our service coming to you? You, too, can become a CAPtain with your donations of any amount.

If you are still unsure of our credibility and integrity, please take your concerns to the foot of the Cross and let Jesus give you assurance. You are also free to contact any Internal revenue Service (IRS) office to verify our credibility. If you do, give them our tax identification number (75-2607488).

Thank you for even considering making donations to the ChildCare Action Project (CAP) Ministry.

August 28, 2003 Update

This is the last update I will prepare for the month of August 2003.

Donations for the month of August increased as more and more folks stepped up to the plate. WM is sending $50. T&LH are sending $30. JB is also sending $50 and M&PS sent $25 plus EL donated $5 through PayPal (minus 50 cents fees), totaling an additional $159.50, lowering the need for August to only $734.65.

But there are only three more days in August! Won't someone be a champion and give the final amount? Maybe two or three of you will split the amount amongst yourselves?

The amount received so far includes $155 from earlier months assigned to August since they were not received until August and $50 in donations made in August but we won't receive until September due to designed delays. But still, $765.35 for the month of August is most indicative of the hearts of many. Won't many others of you join those who have stepped up to the plate to give their contribution to the ole ball game?

More and more folks step up to the plate as days go by. But our foot has not yet touched the $1500 home plate. We passed first base and stopped on second. Please help us reach home plate in these next three days by making a generous donation. It will take one double worth $734.65 or several shorter hits with no outs to get us to home plate.

If you decide to step up to the plate to make your donation swing, please do so by any of these three methods.

September 4, 2003 Update

Well, folks. We didn't make the $1500 for August, but you brought us close. Due to end-of-the-month August donations of a $100 ($103.50 - 3.50 fees) by L&DS through PayPal and another by Anonymous through Network for Good of $250 ($258 - 8.00 fees), we fell short only $384.65!!! That is 74%!

I pray all that made donations in August can repeat their gifts this month and in the following months until we find full funding. And all you folks who did not contribute, I hope you can take courage from the giving hearts of all the folks who have worked so hard to keep this ministry going until we locate 501(c)(3) nonprofit funding.

Let us work hard together and make September bring to His Work through us the full $1500! Talk to everyone you know about the services of the CAP Ministry. Announce it to your congregations and Sunday school classes, your co-workers, relatives, grocery store clerks, home service technicians, auto repair personnel, ....... Everyone who breathes! Even your pastors and priests, ministers of youth, everyone! Feel free to tell your newspapers, radio stations and TV stations about us. We certainly have newsworthy findings. Newsworthy for parents and grandparents, anyway. But then, whom comprise the largest audience for radio and TV and whom comprise the largest circulation for newspapers? YOU! Parents and grandparents.

We have a flyer which anyone is free to reproduce to distribute to everyone you know. It is in PDF format from . PLEASE help us get out the word about the availability of the CAP services. Maybe print out the PDF or HTML format of our "R-13" finding at and give it out with the Flyer. The R-13 finding report reveals from 1996/7 to 2002 a more than 400% increase in the percentage of PG-13 movies that earned scores equivalent to the scores earned by R-rated movies: from 14% to more than 60%! And I see no evidence of that slope changing for 2003. I am looking forward to computing these data each year for you for a very long time. But we cannot do that or any of the other CAP services without serious and long-term help from you, our users.

Other ways you can help is to help us locate fund givers interested in funding a 501(c)(3) Christian ministry with a focus on serving the self respect, integrity and coping skills of children -- the attitude of children toward fair authority, especially parental -- and their Spiritual health through their parents and grandparents in His name by His Word. For if we do not teach our children to respect and honor fair parental authority by making them wise against corruptions of such respect which saturates popular entertainment today, how can we expect them to submit to Jesus? How can we lead our children away from the evils of the world and into His Arms if we ourselves do not know about them as our children are conditioned with them? The only exofamilial influence that more deeply and intimately saturates our children than the entertainment industry is air! No one can escape the reaches of entertainment! We must equip our children to manage such influences righteously. Then, when our children learn, through wisdom and love about what is happening to them, as they mature and become members of the society that generates entertainment, maybe we can take joy that they will make a change or changes for the better. Enough of the soap box soliloquy! I get rather animated when I speak about these matters because it hurts what we are doing TO our children in the name of entertainment. It hurts.

Won't you please give prayerful thought to extending a portion of your increase to the CAP Ministry and help us serve His little ones through YOU, their parents and grandparents.

Thank you and Bless you.

August 31, 2003 Update

Due to a $100 ($103.50 - 3.50 fees) donation made just yesterday by L&DS through PayPal and another donation made just today by Anonymous through Network for Good of $250 ($258 - 8.00 fees), there remains a need for only $384.65!!! ONLY #384.65!!!

There are still about 11 hours left in August! How about that coincidence? I just realized as I typed that we are down to the 11th hour! May we have another champion that will make the final $384.65 in emergency funds for August, another General in this war launched against His Perfect Word by the (whether intentional) dogs of the adversary? So many are working so hard to help keep this ministry going until we can find long-term full funding through a foundation or other source for nonprofit 501(c)(3) funds. But as the 80-20 rule states, [more than] 80% of the "work" is done by [less than] 20% of the people, won't you help defy the 80-20 rule and step forward with your gift of love?

If you decide to step up to the plate to make a generous TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation, please do so by any of these three methods.

God bless you each! May He place in store for your Imperishable Crown an extra jewel of great value. Even if you cannot financially support us, bless you!

September 15, 2003 Update

The month of September is off to a slow start regarding donations to achieve the $1500 requirement for September. But by the gracious giving of NewSafeLists ($50), TM ($10), SS ($30) PR ($5) through PayPal, totaling $91.04 (after service charges), and E&HP ($50), W&DG ($20) and Lifeline ($25.33) through US mail, we now have $186.37 and the need for September is down to $1313.63!

Won't you consider joining these warriors working so hard to keep our free service coming to you?

If each of our daily visitors gave only $50 DOLLARS ONCE, we could continue this ministry for A YEAR. But the hard facts are that less than 1% of they who use our service care to help with the expenses of bringing you this free service. And the less than 1% are carrying so many others.

I could throw my hands up in the air and set up this service to require users to donate to receive the services, but that would not be what I believe is His Will for this ministry. Doing so would make the service only available to those who could afford it. Many fine things have been lost by those who could not afford them. I will not be that way. This is a free service to His little ones through their parents and grandparent sin His name by His Word. And by His Design it is working!

A couple have been so bold as to suggest over the years that if it were His Will that we have funding, we would have it by now. As I bite my digital tongue, I offer that it is the people's will that we not have enough money for operating expenses, not His Will. We are His hands. He gives to us that we may give to others. And what we do with that which He places in our hands is our doing, not His. So, it is not His Will that we face painful difficulties. It is the will of the people who choose to keep that which He gives us rather than share a portion of it. Jesus works miracles but not with bells and whistles and magic. He works His Will in natural and loving ways. In other words, if we don't let Him work His Will through us ... Let us not blame Jesus for the CAP ministry being so poor.

If you decide that it is your turn to help with the expenses of this free service with a generous TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation, please do so by any of these three methods.

Thank you for using our service to His glory.

September 24, 2003 Update

It is September 24, 2003. Not much time left in September to meet the goal of $1500. So far gracious donations have been received from WM ($50), T&LH ($30), SD ($20), D&LD ($20), E&HP ($50), W&DG ($20), N&CC ($75), Lifeline ($25.33), NewSafeLists ($50), TM ($10), SS ($30), PR ($5), JA ($25), TM ($30) and Anonymous ($50) and BM (one cent). These total $490.34 of donations made during the month of September, 2003, leaving the need for $1009.66. We need many more Warriors like the above folks.

Won't you join them and make the decision to extend a portion of your financial excess to the CAP Ministry so we can continue to provide free services to all mothers, fathers, grandparents, pastors, youth leaders and anyone else who cares about what is being pumped into our kids in the name of entertainment?

"... what is being pumped into our kids ..." They love it. We have received thousands of emails from rather animated teenagers (the "R" crowd) and late preteens (the "R-13" crowd) regarding us telling their parents the truth about the content of popular entertainment so their parents can make an informed decision whether a film is fit for them or not. Though I am not a licensed psychologist or counselor, many of their rationales sound quite bizarre and even insane, giving all manner of credibility to that which came to them from the big screen, defending their "right" to have their fix of filth in and as entertainment with the most hideous justifications one could imagine. And our youth are no longer afraid to threaten to kill in even ghastly ways to silence those who threaten their access to filth in film. And why not? They are taught (among a plethora of other aberrant behaviors, especially impudence, nihilism), no matter what your words say, to kill thousands of times thousands of ways every year. All in the name of entertainment.

I intend to prepare a book from the emails and title it _The United States ... of Corinth_. It should present a wealth of information for behavior analysts and counselors, indeed all professionals in the mental health community. In addition, since a number of our analyses have been requested by the legal entities surrounding adolescent murderers who are suspected of having been influenced by popular entertainment, the book should give the legal community a new angle of thought as well. And these matters are not including the thousands of pastors and youth leaders who would gain valuable perspective in seeing how many young minds are influenced by the freedom from accountability, freedom from authority and freedom from consequences promoted and perpetuated by, whether intentional, much of popular entertainment. Mental health/counseling treatment and procedures may take a turn for the better with such vast information, especially since the recent findings of the American Medial Association, the American Psychological Association and others corroborate our findings after our findings.

But, while not trying to put too fine a point on it, all this depends on you, our users/visitors. Such a project cannot be done without financial support. Fifteen hundred dollars per month is not near enough but it will keep us going until we can find 501(c)(3) nonprofit funding. And you can help us keep going with your generous financial support. PLEASE be a champion for our kids through this, His ministry through us by making generous monthly or even regular TAX DEDUCTIBLE donations through any of the three methods available to you.

May God bless you richly.

September 27, 2003 Update

Before today gracious donations were received from WM ($50), T&LH ($30), SD ($20), D&LD ($20), E&HP ($50), W&DG ($20), N&CC ($75), Lifeline ($25.33), NewSafeLists ($50), TM ($10), SS ($30), PR ($5), JA ($25), TM ($30) and Anonymous ($50) and BM (one cent). These total $490.34 of donations made during the month of September, 2003, leaving the need for $1009.66.

Today, September 27, 2003 with the contributions of RL ($50), LS ($100), S&SQ ($30) and the champion donor, NP ($500), the totals for the September month of the CAP Emergency Drive are $1689.66!!! Thanks to you the goal for the month of September, 2003 has been met!!!

ERRATA, September 27, 2003

Just moments I ago told you we had received enough donations to exceed the goal of $1500 for the month of September 2003.

I was wrong.

This is embarrassing. And I wonder whether you now doubt whether I can keep the numbers straight. For more than eight years now I have been able to keep the CAP finances balanced to the penny with the monthly bank statements. Now my perfect record is imperfect.

Rather than having received enough donations to exceed the goal for the month of September, we have NOT made the goal. The total received by the gracious gifts of WM ($50), T&LH ($30), SD ($20), D&LD ($20), E&HP ($50), W&DG ($20), N&CC ($75), Lifeline ($25.33), NewSafeLists ($50), TM ($10), SS ($30), PR ($5), JA ($25), TM ($30), Anonymous ($50) and BM (one cent) plus today's donations from RL ($50), LS ($100), S&SQ ($30) and the champion donor, NP ($500) brings the total received to $1170.34, leaving a need for $329.66 to meet the minimum need for September. That is 78% of the need! Last month the percent of the need received was 74%. Thank you!!! Maybe Jesus will help us make it 100% for the months until full funding is found.

I am so sorry for the mistake and ask if there is one more champion who will give a gift of love of $329.67 to meet the needs for September in these last three days of September.

If you can find it in your hearts to forgive me and overlook this first and single error, please consider using any of the three methods below to give your gifts to this ministry. Remember, all donations to the CAP Ministry are tax-deductible.

September 28, 2003 Update

In my last update to you a few hours ago I told you of not only a mistake of mine but that we still needed $329.67 to meet the minimal needs for the month of September. Shortly after sending out that update, I left to view The Rundown to start the analyses for this period. When I returned DC had made a donation in our PayPal account matching that figure plus the service charges plus three cents ($339.86 - $10.16 fees = $329.70) to ensure the full amount was received. I can now say, with all accuracy this time, that your wonderful gifts in the month of September total 100% of the $1500 minimal needs goal! Bless you all. It is an honor and a privilege to serve you by serving His little ones THROUGH you in His name by His Word. And many seeds are being planted because of you!

"Many seeds are being planted." This brings up another aspect of His work through the CAP Ministry. From our million-plus visitors each year, we receive hundreds of hate mails and even a death threat or two from malcontent young folks, typically they who frequent hate-based forums and chat rooms which exude freedom from authority and they who favor the ultra-violent, arrogant and exceptionally evil films. In the seeming anonymity of email, they verbally attack us viciously for telling mom/dad the truth about the content of modern entertainment and for "disrepecting" their movies. One cannot imagine the bizarreness and vulgarity of many young minds fed and emboldened by that which they defend -- modern entertainment. So, you might wonder why we continue this ministry under such attacks? I have been made to realize that while fellow believers truly find useful substance in this service, it is indeed they who attack us who need those Seeds the most. Little by little they are receiving His Word undiluted and not situationally redefined, counterfeited or conditionally applied to satisfy cultural tolerances or to serve the comfort zone. Only God knows how many young minds are influenced during, for example, the solitude of the twilight of waiting for sleep to come by the Seeds they pick up. So, I say "Thank you, Jesus" for putting me where you want me to serve you best! And thank you all for helping!

Now that the minimum needs of the month of September have been me, we must start working on October as I seek full funding through 501(c)(3) sources. Please remember the CAP ministry as October 1, 2003 arrives and please consider continuing your greatly appreciated help with the expenses. And maybe, if you are financially able, consider becoming a primary funding source for the CAP Minsitry. Fifteen hundred dollars per month, which provides for $250 per week salary, certainly helps but it is only about one fifth of the full needs of this ministry and a salary for a family of six, prayerfully soon to be seven (see our FAQs page, item #4).

I am greatly looking forward to continuing this ministry, prayerfully for many years to come.

October 4, 2003 Update

We all know so well that the end of the month signals the beginning of the next month when bills start all over again. It is the same with any Christian ministry. While, by God's grace through you, September ended with the full $1500 of emergency funds needed, October begins and the needs start all over again.

October starts with a $50 donation by E&H P, leaving the need for $1450 in emergency funds for October. It sounds like such a steep hill to climb and the old demon of "What's the use" crops up and invades our courage. But the only way for that demon to succeed is for us to let it succeed. There have already been more than 1.5 million visitors to our service this year and every one of them paid more than three dollars per month in equipment, dialup services and other Internet coasts to get here. If every one of our visitors in ONE DAY dropped THREE DOLLARS into the kettle every month, we would have full funding. But that is pie n the sky. It is by the gifts of folks like you who make it possible to offer this ministry.

Let us try hard to make October as successful as September in providing emergency funds. Please consider giving a generous tax-deductible gift that will help enable Jesus to do His word through us. Please use any of these three following methods to give your gift of love:

October 12, 2003 Update

Two weeks into October reveal E&H P's monthly $50, N&CC's monthly $75 and W&DG's monthly $25 totaling $150, leaving the minimal need at $1350.

Fifteen hundred dollars per month may not seem that much to some, but it is to folks like you and I. I understand that such an amount, when viewed as a lump sum is enough to make a house payment and maybe a car payment, but it is not enough to pay also for groceries, clothes, shoes, insurance, taxes, diapers, medical needs, school expenses or any of the other dozens of daily needs we all have (including the increasing state of disrepair such as the leak in the roof due to lack of a reasonable salary). Every minister and pastor has these needs, too. No exceptions.

The reason I ask for your help financially is to help provide for the daily needs above my most blessed wife's nurse paycheck who should not have to provide for these services in the first place, who would love to stay at home with our kids, who should be the one who stays home with our seven kids (at $100 per week per child, daycare is not even an option). It should be m^e who provides for the family needs which I cannot do without your help -- the SAME as for ANY minister or pastor of a nonprofit ministry such as your church. And we are a legitimate 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry in accordance with IRS rules and, just like your church, when you donate to the CAP Ministry your donations are tax deductible.

For those of our visitors who might think "Get a job!", I have one. This one. I just have a different Boss. I already have an eternal "paycheck" from Him (Thank you, Jesus!). To be available for this 60 to 80 hours per week service means I cannot get even a part time secular job. Am I asking too much of you for your financial help as I serve His little ones through you, their parents and grandparents and pastors in His name by His Word while I am here on Earth?

In addition to the daily needs that e-v-e-r-y minister/pastor has, each time I conduct analysis of a movie, I have to get to it to watch it. Sometimes the trip is local (6 miles) but there still has to be a vehicle under me to get me there. In addition to the cost of the vehicle (a 2000 Chevy S-10 pickup truck), it has to have fuel and upkeep AND insurance AND registration fees AND inspection fees, etc. Sometimes the trip takes me to Fort Worth (70 miles round trip average). And sometimes the trip takes me to Dallas (162 miles round trip). Monday will involve a Dallas trip for pre-release press screening of Mystic River (IF my wife's nurse schedule will permit it). Tires, oil, gasoline, wear-and-tear and fees all add up. Quickly.

It is a hard fact of life that nothing but the air we breathe and the thoughts we think are free. And to maybe think that the CAP Ministry is just another free website on the Internet is not understanding the depth and scope of all that goes on just to bring the services it provides. Each and every routine cost you have in your daily lives my family has, too. Every one. All nine of us. For those who are interested, the family graphic of the "Carder family" is included below. It is already out of date with the foster placement of three-year old Alicia and Aaron going to his grandparents. Foster daughter Melody, who is now five months old, will prayerfully be adopted by us (that will be eight adoptions). And if these needs are not met, someone will suffer, something will fail or something will be repossessed.

Though I am not required by IRS rules to disclose such information since we do not receive at least $25,000 per year (not even close), I will tell you that previous to October this year my salary was $100 per week (when available). With your generous donations in September, the Board of Directors approved an increase of my salary to $250 per week when available. Out of that salary comes tithe and as many of the expenses $225 will provide.

Let me try to encourage you to get the word out about the CAP free services to all you know and all they know. The folks who have so graciously given so much cannot be expected to carry the weight all the time. The champions such as NP with her $500 donation and DC with his $329 donation and the other warriors who form the backbone of this ministry by regularly sending us lesser but as significant of donations monthly (which in a number of months equal and exceed the $500 and $329 one-time donations) can do only so much. It appears that only by a massive (meaning thousands and thousands) increase in traffic to our services will we be able to keep up with even the very minimal expenses through increased donations.

PLEASE, take the time to spread word about the CAP Ministry and its service to His little ones through them, their parents and grandparents in His name by His Word. And tell them of our need and of the three methods below for making tax deductible donations to this legitimate Christian ministry. And while doing that, please consider making a generous donation yourselves.

Thank you each for your interest in this ministry and for your prayers for it.

Half way through October reveals E&H P's monthly $50, N&CC's monthly $75 and W&DG's monthly $25 plus a $103.30 donation from LS through PayPal, leaving the minimal need at $1246.70. Fifty percent through October reveals 16% of the needs met.

October 25, 2003 Update

At 80% through October, support for November has not been received beyond the previous update ten days ago: the gifts of love from E&H P ($50), N&CC ($75), W&DG ($25) and LS ($103.30). The minimal need is still $1246.70.

Eighty percent through October still reveals only 16% of the needed funds. Donations were 74% of the need in August and 100% in September. Must the percentage for November remain at 16%? Without your painfully needed support, we cannot give you the information you need to know to make an informed decision on the fitness of a movie for your kids without you having to see it for yourself. And how many of us have the time to watch all the movies our kids want to see?

I do not have any Earth-shaking words that would help you to feel more supportive of the CAP Ministry. All I have is more than eight years of serving you with free information you cannot get anywhere else. There is no other service like the CAP service on the planet. None. And it will stay free. There are a couple who have copied the CAP service and one secular outift has had some degree of success, but that is precisely what they are -- copies. Indeed, if I had been wise enough to keep good records of CAP incremental growth and procedural development, I might sue that one outfit for plagiarism. But I didn't. And I doubt that is what Jesus would do, anyway. While Jesus and all of His Apostles had daily and special needs, neither He nor any of His Apostles charged anything for bringing God's Word to the people they served, nor will I. They all relied on and received ample support from the people they served. And so will I rely on the people I serve ... on you.

And a few of you have provided wonderful support on a regular basis and some with one-time or occasional support. But the most appreciated support we have received is just not enough. And you who have donated to the CAP Ministry should not be expected to carry all the weight all of the time. If everyone who has regularly taken advantage of our service as a member of this private distribution list donated just $5 per month, we would have the minimal needs to provide basic service until we found full funding. If everyone who visited our website in ONE MONTH donated just $5 ONCE EACH YEAR we would have enough to operate the ministry full-bore for ONE YEAR. But we all know how that works.

Whether you donate or not, you are welcome to freely use our service. And you are welcome period. In and by His love for us all, I love you and am happy to serve you in this way Jesus has decided is my way to serve His little ones through you, their parents and grandparents in His name by His Word.

Now, a little update on other CAP business. Thursday, October 23, 2003 your CAPtain participated in a telephone interview with the Washington Post. It was an interview by the writer for the humor column but it was an interview that will surely lead many more to the CAP services. Actually, I thought the interview went quite well. The W-Post writer asked several questions I have been asked thousands of times by email, so I had "cut-n-paste" immediate recall replies available. The W-Post got the truth about the CAP as the writer asked questions to try to point the interview in a direction I would not let it go. It remains to be seen what will be printed about three weeks from the interview date. I'll let you know.

If anything I have said above the update on CAP business has tweaked your heart, or if Jesus is speaking to your heart about supporting the CAP ministry, please, give fervent prayerful thought to helping us with our expenses as you help your pastor when he passes the plate on Sunday morning. Or when you write a check and slip it in the offering envelope, consider writing another check just like it and send it to the CAP Ministry. Indeed, any donation you give to the CAP Ministry is the same as that which you drop in the plate or put in the offering envelope. And it, too, is tax deductible. So, if you feel as did the people served by the Apostles as the Apostles brought the Word to the them, please consider dropping some coin in the CAP plate in any of the three ways below.

Depending on Him through you.

October 28, 2003 Update

This is the next to the last October update on the status of the CAP Emergency Funds Drive for the last quarter of 2003. The only remaining update for October will be on October 31, 2003 or a day or two following it.

At 90% through October, support for November has been received through the gifts of love from E&H P ($50), N&CC ($75), W&DG ($25), LS ($103.30), P&MS ($25), MN ($50) and D&LD ($15). A $5 donation from TM sets in PayPal awaiting transfer. The donations total $348.30, leaving the minimal need at $1151.70 and only three days left in October.

August donors gave 74% of the needed funds, leaving a deficit of $384.65. Though September donors met the needs 100%, so far for November funding is only 23% of the needs, leaving $1151.70 deficit.

Combined with the August deficit, the total deficit for three months will be $1536.35. Can you operate on 66% of the need? Neither can we. And unless some strong champions step up to the plate, our services will be less than 66%. The quality of and dedication to serving His little ones through you, their parents and grandparents in His name by His Word will not diminish, but the quantity will.

You are, or course, not obligated in any way to help fund this ministry. Our services are free. But I do ask that if you use our services to please strongly consider helping with the expenses. And consider helping those who cannot help with the expenses. This is a team effort and as with any team effort there are times when some of the team members must perform at 110% of what is needed from them to help those who are not playing at 100%. Sometimes we each must give a little extra for the team to succeed in those vital plays. Your sincerely appreciated help can be provided using any of the three methods below.

The date on your check or the transaction date (if you use one of the two credit card services above) will determine the month to which your gift of love in His name will be applied.

THREE DAYS LEFT IN OCTOBER!

Please, please give prayerful thought to giving generously to this service to your children. A behavioral network , three law enforcement agencies and uncounted individuals have already requested our analyses. Our findings measure whtat the American Medical Association, the American Phychlogical Association and many others simply state. We WILL be able to help the counseling and legal entities with development of new treatment procedures and investigation parameters surrounding youthful crimes but ONLY if we can get massive help through funding and dontations. And as with any nonprofit Christian ministry which is 100% dependant on public support, we cannot do it without your generous financial support

November 4, 2003 Update

October came and went with much appreciated support from E&HP ($50); N&CC ($75); LS ($103.30); W&DG ($25); MN ($50); Anonymous ($50); TM ($30); JA ($25); TM ($5); M&PS ($25); D&LD ($15): RL ($83.55); LR ($50); DC (&50); LS ($309.30), totaling $946.15, leaving the need for $553.85. By the way, I "eat" the service charges when donations are made through charge card services. If you make a $500 donation through, e.g., PayPal, you make a $500 donation to the CAP Ministry, not a $485.20 donation to us and a $14.80 service fee "donation" to PayPal.

With $1115.35 from August, $1500 from September, and now $946.15 (63%) from October, unless my temporarily fuzzy brain is off in la-la land, we are now at 79% of the minimum needs. And it is all thanks to your generosity.

I am now at a point where I must devote as much time as possible to seeking full funding from fund givers and other 501(c)(3) nonprofit sources. I have started the name-address database, have completed the intro merge letter (3.5 pages) and will work diligently on completing the database the rest of this week in order to start shipping out the proposal packages no later than the end of next week. And I will need help with that, too. Costs for getting out 200 proposal packages is estimated at $216.65 (paper, toner, postage, printed envelopes) if anyone would like to sponsor the effort.

It is clear that you all are most graciously in support of what we are doing to help you help your children In His name by His Word. I pray you will each be able to continue to help us until we can find full funding from fund givers and grant makers, etc. It is a long, hard and very expensive road but it is not impossible. Nothing is impossible with Jesus as our Lord and guide. Please help me to serve Him by serving your children through you, their parents, grandparents, pastors, youth leaders and other youth service providers. And the best way you can help is through prayer support. Please fervently and with assurance lift up our needs to the foot of the Cross as you consider helping us with yet more of the expenses of serving you.

Your tax-deductible donations are most assuredly welcome and may be made through any of the three means below.

Bless you and may our Lord abundantly grace you in accordance with His riches.

November 6, 2003 Update

I know many of you are getting tired of these updates but I am driven to keep trying. I won't be sending these out every two days but this is the beginning of November and a start-of-the-month status might be appropriate. Besides, until we can find full funding from a fund giver or grant maker, I am accountable to you who donate to this ministry and I will not keep you in the dark.

A last-minute $100 donation from E&HP that came on November 4th was dated October 31 so it was applied to the October period of the $1500 per month minimum needs emergency funds drive, reducing the October deficit from $553.85 to $453.85. But one week into November reveals no donations at all. I am confident it will not stay that way but it is not a good feeling.

As I said in the last update a few days ago, I am heavy into preparing proposal packages to send to fund givers and grant makers for full 501(c)(3) funding for the CAP Ministry. I could use some help with that in two ways. First, prayer support that they who receive the packages will seek God's Will in making their decisions. Second, the costs of sending out 200 proposal packages is estimated to be $216.65 (paper, toner, postage, printed envelopes). I need help with that in view of the October (and August) deficit in meeting our minimum needs. If anyone wishes to help sponsor our proposal expenses, please feel free to do so through any of the ways below.

Again I ask for your fervent prayer support.

And again I thank you for more than eight years of your trust in this ministry...

November 15, 2003 Update

Half way through November reveals two donations: $25 from W&DG and $250 from LS, leaving the need for at least $1225. The August deficit was $384.65 . The September deficit was zero. The October deficit was $453.85. This reveals a four-month deficit so far of $2063.50. This also reveals that those of you who have donated to this ministry, who represent much less than 0.1% of they who use our services, provided 34% of the minimal expenses. I don't have to paint a picture for you to see how dark it is nor do I have to itemize the ramifications. I can only ask that you more strongly consider helping the less than 0.1% who do.

You can help them by making generous donations through any of the three methods provided below.

All I have to do to distribute the proposal packages to 186 fund givers and grant makers is to finalize the intro letter, copy our IRS 501(c)(3) Letter of Determination, print the packages ($12.98), stuff the envelopes we just paid for ($25.77) and mail them. We still have to buy the copies ($11.16) and buy postage ($137.64) which may mean a further delay. If anyone wishes to help with the remaining $161.78 costs of this project, it would be most appreciated.

In His Precious Name I ask that you seriously consider helping His little ones by helping us.

November 22, 2003 Update

Donations for the month of November stand at: $25 from W&DG, another $100 from W&DG, $250 from LS, $250 from DL, $25 from M, $75 from N&CC G and $100 from VA, totaling $825 so far, leaving a need for $675 to meet the minimum goal with eight days to reach it.

Anyone who wishes to help these three folks help us may do so through ay of hte three methods below.

The chronology of this Emergency Funds Drive is available online at .

Proposal packages went out in the US mail yesterday to 185 nonprofit fund givers and grant makers. I solicit your prayer support that the proposals will be given His power and authority to influence the minds of the decision-makers favorably to the CAP Ministry.

Thank you each for your continued trust in this ministry.

December 4, 2003 Update

At least one of our CAP family has said he is getting tired of these updates of the CAP Emergency Funds Drive. I realize these updates can be a nuisance but I must honor my responsibility to provide regular status updates to those of our family who provide us with financial support and to those who pray so earnestly for our continuation. In addition, this is an organized fund raising drive where we must seek your support and cannot do so without sending prompts to you. I will continue these updates for a few more months or until we find full funding. There is not one nonprofit ministry on the planet that does not seek the support of they who partake in the services of the ministry. The CAP Ministry is no different. I am not ashamed to ask for your support and will say to those who want the services of the CAP but are not willing to "suffer the begging" that they are free to unsubscribe from this service by going to . And we are not in a position to be selective about who receives the updates. If you are subscribed to the CAP ministry list, you will receive these updates. If you unsubscribe, you will lose all CAP email services.

December 4 reveals zero donations to the CAP Ministry. The first week of November was the same. I know that is not an indication of what is to come through your gracious giving, but the deficits in three of the previous four months is an uncomfortable feeling. I do NOT want to make this CAP service a "pay to use" service. I want it to remain free to all the two to three thousand visitors each day and all the list members, as free as it is to walk into your church every Sunday and Wednesday. And as with e-v-e-r-y Christian ministry, we depend on the financial support of they who partake of the services provided. But we cannot provide the services without continued generous financial support. YOUR support. Each time you receive service through the email and each time you visit one of out web pages, won't you help us with your financial support by making generous, tax-deductible donations through any of the three methods below

December 14, 2003 Update

We are now 50% through December and folks have graciously donated 50% (actually 51%) of the need during this time we observe and celebrate the Birth of our Lord: WB - $25; M&PS - $35; LS - $500; W&DG - $25; AN - $5; E&HP - $100; N&CC - $75, totaling $765, leaving the need for $735 to meet the December portion of the goal of $1500 per month until we can find full 501(c)(3) funding.

Starting this month, Cloud Ten Pictures, makers of the Left Behind films, is donating VHS/DVDs of their ten films to the CAP ministry to provide you with VHS/DVDs of any of their films as a gratuity for donations to the CAP Ministry. Please visit MOVIES FOR DONATIONS. It is quite a showcase of the excellence Cloud Ten Pictures has brought us. Following is a nutshell of the page:

For a single donation of
  • $150 you may choose one of any title in any format.
  • $280 you may choose two of any title or two different titles.
  • $390 you may choose three of any title or a combination of titles totaling three.
  • $480 pick any combination of four titles.
  • $550 pick any combination of five titles.
  • $640 pick any combination of six titles.
  • $730 pick any combination of seven titles.
  • $820 pick any combination of eight titles.
  • $910 pick any combination of nine titles.
  • $1000 or more we will send you the entire Cloud Ten Pictures library of titles shown above or any combination you wish of ten titles.

    No shipping and handling charges.

Further instructions are provided on the MOVIES FOR DONATIONS page.

This special arrangement is for any donations made as shown above on or after December 7, 2003 and is conditional on Cloud Ten Pictures having enough copies of the films in their inventory to support this project. The same three methods of making your generous donations to the CAP Ministry are available below to specify which film(s) you would like as a gratuity/as gratuities for your dearly appreciated donations as shown above.

    December 21, 2003 Update

We are now two thirds through December and there has been one $10 donation since the last update which follows:

Folks have graciously donated 50% (actually 51%) of the need during this time we observe and celebrate the Birth of our Lord: WB - $25; M&PS - $35; LS - $500; W&DG - $25; AN - $5; E&HP - $100; N&CC - $75; $10 - GJ, totaling $775, leaving the need for $725 to meet the December portion of the goal of $1500 per month until we can find full 501(c)(3) funding.

I am well aware of the added expenses due to the commercial aspects of this time of year. We have them, too, with seven kids (five adopted, two foster; one of the foster kids - 8 month old girl - prayerfully will be adopted by us, too :). But if you can find it in your heart to help us with your generous donations, we would be deeply appreciative. Remember, any donation you make to the CAP Ministry is tax-deductible in accordance with IRS rules under section 501(c)(3), just like the tithe or donation you drop in the plate on Sunday morning or Wednesday night.

If you decide to make a donation to the CAP Ministry, feel free to use any of the three methods below.

This is the last plea I will make before Christmas day. I beg you, yes, I beg you to consider giving generously. I can break three boards with one forward punch and drag my knuckles but I am NOT above humbling myself to you for the sake of this ministry to His little ones through you in His name.

Bless you each and may you have the brightest and most joyous Christmas day of your years. We will be thinking about you as a member of the (CAP) family.

    December 31, 2003 Update

It is the end of the year 2003 and so many have worked so hard to help keep this ministry going, most of them in the final five months of this year. In those five months, September was 100% fruitful to the goal of $1500 per month until we find full 501(c)(3) funding. But not so for December. Following is the accounting of donations to the CAP ministry in the month of December 2003:

    WB - $25; M&PS - $135; W&DG - $25; LS - $500; AN - $5; E&HP - $100; N&CC - $75; MS ; $10; D&LD - $25; GJ - $10; DH - $100; RT- $50; Mr/Mrs. EA - $100. This totals $1160 in donations for December, again leaving a need but this time for $340.

I will be faithfully continuing this emergency funds drive until the end of June 2004 and will be providing at least two updates per month in honor of my responsibility to they who donate. Each time I send out an update, the subject is preceded with "[CAP] UPDATE." In that way, if you wish not to view the updates it is a simple matter to select and delete anything that begins with "[CAP] UPDATE."

For each of the last three months the unfulfilled portion of the minimum need seems to have grown smaller. I pray that soon, very soon the unfulfilled portion becomes zero and that it stays that way until we find full funding.

Won't you who have not made any donations to the CAP ministry consider becoming a partner in the growing dynamic team which supports this ministry? Anyone who donates to the CAP Ministry has partnership in this ministry which is indeed poised to make a great and positive change in our world. We need to get the word out to as many as possible the parents and grandparents who take seriously what their children are fed in the name of entertainment. To do that takes money in addition to the basic costs of any ministry. And we can't do it without *you*.

If you decide to make a donation to the CAP Ministry, feel free to use any of the three methods below.

I do hope you each had a joyous day of celebration and observance of the Lord's birthday and that you were each greatly blessed on the day of the birth of the Blessed One. And I hope you each have a prosperous new year.

    January 14, 2004 Update

So far, half way through January, our dear friends W&DG ($25), N&CC ($75) and E&HP ($100) have made donations to the CAP ministry. Typically, our regular donors provide from $300 to $400 per month. They work so hard to help keep the CAP services coming.

I remember back when I was the sound man at our church with its large auditorium, a quartet of two men and two women came to sing praise to our Lord. After the performance I told them of the beauty of their sound; that it was as a great and majestic waterfall with the men being the river and the women being the mist, that without both there would be no waterfall. It bought mist to their eyes.

Now I envision our donors as a majestic waterfall; the one-time and semi-regular donors who give $300 and even $500 gifts occasionally (and almost monthly for LS) as the river with the few but dedicated monthly donors of $15, $25, $75 and even $100 as the mist. Without both there would be no waterfall - no CAP Ministry.

Over the five months of the emergency funds drive, with its occasionally near but only once meeting the minimum monthly goal of $1500, the river has gone down. The mist is still there, but the roaring rush of the river has quieted a little. Please help us to return the river to its majestic roar. For if the river runs dry there would be no CAP services. Then I would have to ask the mist to stop the donations they have been making consistently over the years. At that point the great and majestic CAP waterfall would be no more than an empty rock wall.

Please help us continue to fight the insidious and relentless attack of the adversary on our moral standards through the most vulnerable target available - our children. It may be that the CAP Ministry Jesus started is the one that hits the devil where it hurts the most: the one that is most harmful to his final days campaign; the one that scares him the most. "How's that" you ask? Well, since you've asked, I'll tell you.

The discovery by the CAP Ministry of the overwhelming saturation of entertainment media with impudence/hate quite possibly exposes the most vital campaign of the thief, killer and destroyer in his war on Jesus who, by the way, harbors a special love for children. Because Jesus so loves children and Satan so hates Jesus, it just makes sense that Satan would attack Jesus using his insidious and often invisible ordnance against that which is most precious to Jesus - our children. Our discovery just might be a revelation that in these final days the father of lies and deception is accelerating his war on Jesus by using exponentially more evil and corruptive attacks on the most vulnerable and society-changing target - our youth, His little ones - using the single cannon Jesus despises the most - impudence* - using the most sought, most effective and most society-saturating ammunition - entertainment. And all of this during the most impressionable period in the lives of our youth with the lures most typically sought by youth: unearned and unmerited independence and autonomy; freedom from accountability; freedom from authority; freedom from consequences; each being an offspring or result of impudence/hate. All of which, together AND separately, feed the foolishness bound in the hearts of youth (Prov. 22:15) and steal the childhood from children!

    __________
    * Prov 6:17 - "a proud look" (KJV), "haughty eyes" (NIV)

I will continue this emergency funds drive until June 30, 2004, praying daily that hearts will be led to give the vital financial assistance. Regularly! On July 1, 2004, if the needed support is not found or offered, I will continue the CAP Ministry as best I can though so many thousands use the CAP services without helping with the expenses. And if that irks you who use the CAP services who are able to help with the costs but won't, it should. I will continue the CAP Ministry even then, though at a probable trickle rate, in spite of the increasing debt because I love children because He who spent three days in Hell so you and I would not have to spend one moment there loves children. Twelve years of 24-7 care to 27 foster children and adopting seven of them, soon to be eight :o), should be seen as a measure of how much I love children. And please. Do NOT think of what I just said as bragging or self-glorification. Pretense never endures. Love does.

In spite of apathy and some threat, I will continue the CAP Ministry until Jesus tells me to stop. What irks me is people who say things like "If it were God's Will that you have full funding, He would give it to you." To that I ask, how does God give such gifts? Answer: Through people. But He will NOT force our will. If we are not provided the needed funding, it will be the will of the users, not His.

Won't you consider becoming part of the CAP waterfall with your generous one-time, semi-regular or monthly gifts? If you decide to make a tax deductible donation to the CAP Ministry, feel free to use any of the three methods below.:

    February 4, 2004 Update

As part of my responsibility to they who regularly donate to the CAP Ministry, following are the donations made during January, 2004:

    E&HP - $200; DG - $1; M&PS - $25; JR - $15; W&DG - $25; N&CC - $75; LS - $100; T&DR - $25. These gracious donations totaled $466 which was 32% of the minimum monthly goal of $1500 until we can find full funding for the CAP Ministry or June 30, whichever comes first.

Since August 2003, the start of this emergency funds drive, only September revealed donations totaling $1500. A couple of the months of this drive have resulted in close to the %1500, but only September resulted in the full $1500. January, which is typically the worst month for donations was true to its history, but that truth does not pay the bills.

February begins with two donations: DR - $10 and LS - $100, leaving the need for $1390. Can you help us match September 2003 in February and in each of the following four months? Remember that each of your donations to the CAP ministry are indeed tax deductible (EIN: 75-2607488). Several of you -- LS, W&DG, N&CC, E&HP, M&PS, D&LD and a few others are regularly, month by month, working so hard to help us keep this free service coming to you. Won't you consider helping them?

If you are led to donate to the CAP Ministry, feel free to use any of the three methods below.

Please pray earnestly for His Will to lead you.

    Thank you.

    February 24, 2004 Update

So far for the month of February 2004 donations to the CAP Ministry have been received from:

    Anon - $10; LS - $100; T&LH - $200; D&LD - $20; BH - $20; W&DG - $35; N&CC - $75; TH - $100; R&MW - $20. These gracious people have contributed a total of $580 to the CAP ministry this month. Though very much appreciated, they fall short of the minimum $1500 per month needed by $920.

For the seven months of this intended 11-month Emergency Funds Drive, only September yielded the full minimum of $1500 needed. I don't need to tell you what happens when expenses exceed income. Thus I plead with you to strongly consider the value of that which our Lord is providing you through this ministry and take our needs to the Cross in fervent prayer. And if you are able, please give generously so that we may continue providing this unprecedented and unequalled service to you.

You all should have received our analysis of the new Mel Gibson film, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST and have had it a full four days before the opening day tomorrow. If not, it is available online at http://www.capalert.com/capreports/passionofthechrist.htm. We have received kudos for the analysis of the film and one of them follows as an example:

You have done a wonderful, marvelous job over the past several years in your work with the CAP ministry, but none of your works equals the inspired presentation that you made regarding The Passion. Your words of reassurance and invitation to salvation were the most sincere and encouraging I've ever encountered in print. -SK-
Site visitation has more than doubled due to the posting of our analysis of the film and our position in the Baptist Top 1000 (http://www.baptisttop1000.com/) is now #3 with more than 6000 unique visits in one day. But donations have not doubled. Donatons have actually decreased. Finances have gotten to the point that after February 28 we will be shut down until we receive the dialup fees of $95.70 unless the service provider will be patient with us. As in any affairs involving the human factor, I cannot say what they will do. I will be talking to them tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do to keep us 'on the air' in anticipation of donations enough to cover the fees. Your prayers would help their decision.

I will continue to analyze films locally for as long as family funds will allow since donations were one-third of the minimum costs and will prepare the data for publication in our analysis reports (at least one per week), but there will be no new analysis reports posted to our site or distributed by email if the provider does not let us extend the due date until we receive the needed donations.

I cannot believe that will happen. Jesus and about eight regular donors plus a number of one-time or occasional donors have been working too hard to keep this ministry going for almost nine years. Most of the expenses have come from what He has given my family and that has to stop and soon. Practicality has raised its ugly head and has led me to sin with fear. All because of something as petty as money.

I know this sounds as if I am asking you to sink money in a sinking ship. If that is what it sounds like to you, remember this ship has been sinking for almost nine years but it is still afloat. Always the donations are insufficient to run the bilge pumps enough to keep up with the incoming water and it is getting deeper slowly. But more funding/donations will enable the bilge pumps to not only keep up with the water spewing into the ship but will fix the hole. The bottom line: if the USS CAP sinks, it will not be by His Will.

I beg you to lift up this ministry to the Cross and ask earnestly until your "sweat was as it were great drops of blood" falling from your brow [Luke 22:44] that He send us the funds needed to survive this temporary shortness and to continue for years to come with full funding (see http://www.capalert.com/faqpage.htm#4.).

I turn this over to Him in submission to His power and authority.

While Satan has already lost the War, some of his campaigns are effective. Help us to defeat this newest of Satan's campaigns against the CAP Ministry that has hit us where it hurts the most and to accelerate our campaign against him and his attack of Jesus through the most vulnerable victims - our children. If you feel led to do so and are able to do so without stretching your own finances to the breaking point, please give generously using any of three methods below..

    Thank you.

    March 13, 2004 Update

The month of February 2004 ended with donations to the CAP Ministry received from:

    Anon - $10; LS - $200; T&LH - $200; D&LD - $20; BH - $20; W&DG - $35; N&CC - $75; JC - $5; R&MW - $20. These gracious people have contributed a total of $585 to the CAP ministry this month. Though very much appreciated, they fall short of the minimum $1500 per month needed by $915.

The month of March 2004 is starting out much better than February with the following donations as of March 13:

SK - $200; M%PS - $25; D&TM - $50; E&HP - $100; N&CC - $75; MN - $10; LR - $20; BF - $50; D&LD - $20; W&DG - 25' MM - $100 which total $675 in the first 41% of March. If the same momentum is maintained for the next 18 days, the full minimum monthly need will be met. But alas, many of the regular donors have given their share already. And if the others who make regular monthly donations to the CAP Ministry maintain their usual amount, we will not make it to $1500 for the month of March and the bilge pumps will not be able to keep up with the brine pouring in. Please recall the comparison I used last month to our funding situation:

"I know this sounds as if I am asking you to sink money in a sinking ship. The bottom line: if the USS CAP sinks, it will not be by His Will."

February just made the bilge water a little deeper. We are still afloat but only God knows whether we can stay afloat through March, April, May and June if they each reveal just under enough pumping of the bilge water out of the ship let alone fix the hole. And even if we are sinking a little more each month, you are each helping to keep us alive just a little longer.

The depth of the bilge water is our level of debt. It keeps growing. And unless we can find full 501(c)(3) funding to operate this ministry and its office (which includes me earning the Federal Poverty Guideline for a family of six), there will be one day a point at which the debt will be too great to continue. If I can earn at least the Poverty Guideline for a family of six, I will be able to fix the hole in the hull and stop the leak. See .

As with any nonprofit Christian ministry, it all depends on donations. And only you can help. Either by making donations or by helping us find 501(c)(3) funding or sponsors ... or by prayer, which is the most powerful help we can get.

If you feel a tug at your heart to give to the CAP Ministry, please donate using and of the three methods below. Right now. To wait is to give the adversary a chance to influence you through things he can control that impact your lives.

The CAP Ministry just might be the one that is hitting Satan the hardest since we are revealing that in these final days the father of lies and deception is accelerating his battles with Jesus using exponentially more deceptive and vile attacks on the most vulnerable target, our youth, for whom Jesus has a special place in His Heart. And all this during the most impressionable period of their lives with the lures most typically sought by youth: freedom from accountability, freedom from authority and freedom from consequences using the most effective, saturating and narcotic weapon available: entertainment. All of which, together AND separately, feed the foolishness bound in the hearts of youth (Prov. 22:15) and steal the childhood right out from under our children. In short, we are fighting the adversary in his battles with Jesus by using they who are most precious to Him and are the most vulnerable.

We cannot do it without your help!

While we desperately need a lot of continuous financial support to continue this service to His little ones through you, their parents and grandparents in His name by His Word, it would be terrible if you took money you righteously need and gave it to the CAP Ministry. An urgency on our part does not constitute an emergency on yours. Please give, but give what you can.

    Thank you.
