SUMMARY / COMMENTARY:

*Thomas Crown Affair* (R) -- almost a "James Bond" affair.

In much of the Style of the 007 movies, Pierce Brosnan playing a mega-rich tycoon turned master thief used his riches to heist a $100,000,000 painting. While a well-acted and well-choreographed opulent movie, it had to have 'stuff' in it.

That stuff included lots of sexual material including intercourse with full nudity which filled much of the runtime of this movie. Though man's reasoning and wisdom gives this movie an R-rating, it is impossible for me to support the "17 and over" nonsense of the R rating since no one should be subjected to this stuff [Ps. 101:3 "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes:..."]. Also, as is typical with "adult" programming, foul language freckled the script including the most foul of foul words, the three/four letter word vocabulary, and God's name in vain both with and without the four letter expletive [Matt. 12:36-37 "But I (Jesus) say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."].

Booze, drinking and drunkenness were present, too. As were firearms to control, lies, and screaming anger. And as to be expected there were no consequences to the master thief OR his lady accomplice. They were shown to be jetting off to never-never land to languish in splendor. And of course this was presented as an acceptable and even justified outcome.

It has become important to spend a paragraph to remind our readers that I do NOT have a holier-than-thou heart. The main reason He has me doing this is to let you, the parent or grandparent know of the true content of movies so you can decide for yourselves whether a movie is or is not acceptable for your and your family BEFORE you see it. And our Investigation Standards are built on the teachings of Jesus and I share them with you as revealed in Scripture. My standards of acceptance are meaningless to this ministry. It is His expectations with which we must concern ourselves, not mine. Whether I think a movie is or is not acceptable for you or your kids is actually none of my business. The heart of this ministry is to give you the facts -- the true content of movies -- then YOU decide whether a movie is or is not okay.
